Leeds’ FIZZY BLOOD unshackle their new, high octane track PAWN . Showcasing unrelenting energy, grungey guitar twang and blistering vocals, the track creates a contagious swirling, cyclonic soundscape that you’ll want to dive head first into.
“Pawn is a song about predatory behavior. Taking advantage of people’s desperation in order to manipulate them for your own gain. Now more than ever, I think that’s becoming more relevant and unfortunately something that people in a global sense need to be vigilant towards.
The song was recorded live to tape with very little in the way of overdubbed recording. We wanted to try and recreate the experience of hearing the song live.”
– Paul Howells, Guitars
PAWN saw its first radio play last week by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens. The track follows previous single Animals which has also seen spins from Phil Taggart .
Explosive and guttural, FIZZY BLOOD are aptly named and causing a stir. Releasing their colossal debut EP FEAST in 2015, widespread praise for the record fuelled a formidable live run, highlights including shows alongside Allusondrugs , The Virginmarys , Max Raptor and The Dead Kennedys.
2017 is shaping up to be FIZZY BLOOD ’s biggest year yet. The band are hot on the tail of their second appearance at SXSW, and are now gearing up for a mammoth 19-date run as support to While She Sleeps . Summer will see FIZZY BLOOD kick off a hefty festival schedule, which will include Camden Rocks , Download , 2000 Trees and Tramlines – with more to be announced soon. The band are also working on their next release which is due later this year on Killing Moon & Alya Records, further details to be announced soon.
With a fuller throttled sound and more determination than ever, FIZZY BLOOD are scaling new heights and set to make one hell of a dent on the UK music scene.
