READING & LEEDS 2019 – ACTS NOT TO MISS
(LEEDS FIRDAY / READING SUNDAY)

FOO FIGHTERS

This year the mighty Foo Fighters will make their triumphant return to the UK to headline Reading and Leeds for the first time since their sold-out spectacular shows at London stadium and Manchester’s Etihad last year, after the release of their ninth studio album ‘Concrete and Gold’ released late September. With nearly 30 million records sold, the Foo Fighters have an absolute arsenal of a back catalogue to throw at us in their headline set to take us all the way back to their debut self-titled 1995 album. Reading and Leeds has always been close to the Foo Fighters, so expect an unstoppable energetic show once again from the incredible Foo’s!

A DAY TO REMEMBER

Fittingly as a sub headliner on the main stage to the lively Foo’s are no other than Florida’s own A Day To Remember. Their mix of metalcore and pop punk will have everyone bouncing, moshing, crowd surfing and singing from start to finish. With absolute belters like ‘All I Want’ & ‘Right Back At It Again’ these guys will be making sure they give the Foo’s a run for their money and will hope to pull the rug from right beneath their feet. Expect pyro-tastic explosive set from ADTR once again on the R&L Main Stage.

ENTER SHIKARI

Enter Shikari are no strangers to Reading & Leeds, and they love it so much that this year they play 2 sets across the weekend making R&L history! From the monster Main Stage over to a headline set at The Pit, you can grab a double dose of the lively Enter Shikari as they blast through their sets of electronic rock to get you right in the festival mood. Their most recent album ‘The Spark’ released late 2017 reflects on the frontman Rou Reynolds anxiety over Brexit and the election of Donald Trump and spoke in volumes to their fan base. Always throwing an incredible show, Shikari are bound to produce two show stopping performances at both Reading and Leeds once again!

CHVRCHES

Fancy some synth singalongs? Well CHVRCHES are back this year in the BBC R1 tent with a set full of hooks, including those from their recent album ‘Love Is Dead’ which has produced fantastic singles such as ‘Get Out’, ‘Never Say Die’ and ‘Miracle’. After their incredible set in 2016 CHVRCHES will be ready to make a triumphant return to R&L!

HOT MILK

Manchester’s very own power-pop quartet Hot Milk are fresh on the scene and are turning heads everywhere! Having already supported the likes of Foo Fighters, Hot Milk have already made a statement for their live shows. The back and forth vocals between Jim Shaw & Han Mee sound brilliant on their new EP ‘Are You Feeling Alive’. Make sure you catch them at The Pit / The Lock Up stage!

BASTILLE

It’s just six years since South Londoner, Dan, started Bastille alone in his bedroom, releasing 300 copies of Bastille’s debut single. Relentless gigging, genuine word of mouth and some smartly curated mixtapes has meant that within three years Bastille have become a global phenomenon. With some new music in the mix including the recent single ‘Those Nights’, Bastille are set to smash through their BBC R1 Stage headline set with great intent.

THE FAIM

Having first caught a glimpse of The Faim at Slam Dunk Festival in recent years, we’re clued up to the fact that the Perth lads are always a dead cert for a brilliant show, and this time in the BBC R1 stage they have more room to impress. Back on the scene with the recent single ‘Amelie’, The Faim are rearing to go and unveil some of their newer tracks on us at this years Reading & Leeds festival.

STAND ATLANTIC

Aussie pop-punks Stand Atlantic are fairly new on the scene. The may only have one album and an EP under their belt, but they have exploded onto the scene and already supported the likes of New Found Glory, Neck Deep and State Champs. As you would imagine they have picked up a few things on the road and Stand Atlantic will deliver a fantastic set on The Pit amid the festival madness. If you haven’t checked them out already, give their debut album ‘Skinny Dipping’ a spin and you’ll be hooked on the likes of ‘Lavender Bones’ and ‘Skinny Dipping’ which are well worth turning up for a bouncy mosh pit or two.
