Pop/rockers wavebye have just announced the news that they will be releasing their debut EP, sugar on 29th July via AWAL. As well as show me, the 6-track body of work includes songs everything, first single and title track sugar (watch the video here), bodyheat, you think I don’t know and this is love. Speaking of the release, frontman Finlay Male says, “The sugar EP is a deluge of emotion we have been bottling up for over a year, and its release fills us with the biggest sense of pride.’”
Alongside news of the EP release, the four-piece have just revealed their video for second single, show me. The video was directed and shot by Martina Wisniewska, and sees the band performing through a blue haze. The mid-tempo track opens with rhythmic delay chiming out from the guitars, and builds up to the soaring anthemic chorus. Watch the video here:
Following their debut live show as a band at Teddy Rocks Festival in May, wavebye have supported HALFNOISE in their hometown of Southampton and joined alt/rockers Chapter & Verse at London’s Thousand Island. Earlier this week, they played a show with Miss Vincent at Southampton’s Joiners, and then they head to Burn It Down Festival in Torquay on 31st August. See details for tickets here.
Formerly known as Faux, the band are back with brand new music under their new moniker and are excited for what lies in store. Frontman Finlay Male has said of the fresh start, “We started the band Faux as a group of friends writing emo/pop-rock with the simple goal of having fun while feeling creatively content. Our years together formed a strong passion and belief in our ability to create a unique sound that we feel was no longer fairly represented by Faux and our name should evolve with us.”
