Rival Bones release new single ‘Scars’

Hailing from North West England, raucous two-piece RIVAL BONES have gigged the DIY circuit relentlessly and are rapidly gaining a reputation as a formidable force. Today they release new single SCARS, which captures the high octane spirit of their live shows, showcasing infectious groove and swagger, and blistering, full-throttled riffs.

Scars is about finding comfort in someone who is just as damaged as you. You may both not be in the right place, but the fact that you’re both their gives you some form of escape and maybe even lets you revel in the fact you’re both that way. It’s a song we had written in some form or another for a couple of months, but its form changed a lot leading up to recording. It’s one of the first songs that we really mulled over.

We were actually given a full weekend in a brand new multi million pound recording studio that our producer had helped build over the last 7 years! We were asked to stress test it and thought it was the perfect opportunity to finally get Scars down to tape. In terms of recording it’s done the same way we always record. Both of us set up live in a big room, no multi tracking, no click track, just the raw performance with vocals done later on”

Forming in late 2014, guitarist James Whitehouse and drummer Chris Thomason had a collective vision to create music influenced by bands including Audioslave, Queens Of The Stone Age, Death From Above and Rage Against The Machine. Word of the power duo’s musical chemistry spread fast, fuelling a plethora of live opportunities, including support to Mallory Knox and The Hyena Kill, alongside Tramlines, Camden Rocks and Amplified festivals.

RIVAL BONES have a busy summer ahead, with pit stops at Liverpool Sound City, Focus Wales, Rockmantic and Amplified festivals.

SCARS is the start of a new and exciting chapter for RIVAL BONES. Watch this space for further news.
