Visionary Texan quartet NOTHING MORE release their eagerly awaited album The Stories We Tell Ourselves this Friday, September 15th via Better Noise Records.
The follow up to the band’s self-titled 2014 breakout LP, The Stories We Tell Ourselves sees frontman Jonny Hawkins once again bearing the soul of Nothing More as his bandmates Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass) and Ben Anderson (drums) craft a sonic palette comprised of elements ranging from progressive rock to pop.
They are also delighted to be returning to the UK for a short headline run in December. These will be their first dates since they gained an army of fans touring with The Pretty Reckless and Halestorm along with an appearance at the Reading & Leeds Festivals. Famous for their onstage props, this tour sees the Scorpion Tail emerging. A 400 lb 14-foot-tall instrument made from scrap metal, automotive and motorcycle parts. The Scorpion Tail was hand-crafted by Nothing More bassist Daniel Oliver, a self-taught welder and metal artist
Lyrically the album was further influenced by everything from the writings of Carl Jung and C.S. Lewis to the potent psychedelic DMT, all of which helped open singer Jonny Hawkins’ mind to new ways of understanding himself and the world around him. The band has recently revealed their latest track “Who We Are” listen here: HERE
