jule vera release video for ‘Bad Company’

Alternative pop outfit Jule Vera release their music video for ‘Bad Company’ today via Weekday Records/Sony Music. The Max Moore-directed video relives childhood fantasies of lighthearted babysitter payback, complete with an escape plan and toy blasters. Jule Vera battles their younger selves as front woman Ansley Newman croons over a head-bobbing bass melody. The ‘Bad Company’ music video premiered originally on SweetyHigh.

“We wanted to do something fun for the ‘Bad Company’ music video instead of a serious take on a complicated relationship,” shared Newman. “So throughout the song we had the kids represent ‘bad company’ and show all the fun, sometimes mischievous, things kids do when they work together. We had so much fun filming this because it brought us back to when we were kids.”

Alternative Press describes Jule Vera’s sound as “a combination of dreamy vocals and rock instrumental elements,” which is effortlessly captured in “Bad Company” with Newman’s perfectly pop tone and the band’s brazen guitar melodies. Produced by Frequency (MisterWives, Melanie Martinez, Bebe Rexha), “Bad Company” is Jule Vera’s third single off their sophomore album, Waiting On The Sun, and is available for streaming and purchasenow.

Jule Vera will support Our Last Night on their upcoming “Selective Hearing” tour. The North American run kicks off on March 8 and already has back-to-back sold out dates.

ABOUT JULE VERA
With a band from Alabama, a listener might expect to hear the trademark riffs and harmonies well established in country music. However, instead of traditional Southern influences, pop quartet Jule Vera takes more inspiration from their experiences and an observational analysis of the world in which they live. The group formed organically in 2010, when guitarist/keyboardist Jake Roland and bassist Will Stacey decided to start a band as high school students. It wasn’t long before the duo transitioned into a three-piece upon meeting their talented vocalist and frontwoman, Ansley Newman at a local garage band camp, thus forming Jule Vera in its current iteration in 2013. From there, the trio continued to grow, ultimately turning into a four-piece pop band with the addition of drummer Kyle Horvath. The newfound quartet quickly began writing nearly non-stop, releasing their first EP Friendly Enemies in 2015 and following it up with nationwide tours such as the Vans Warped Tour, all before hitting twenty years old.
