Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Zac Farro AKA HALFNOISE is excited to announce the release of The Velvet Face EP – due out on March 24th via Congrats.  The EP follows closely behind last summer’s Sudden Feeling, which saw Zac hit his stride as a songwriter and performer.

BROOKLYN VEGAN have premiered French Class which you can stream below:

Momentum continued to build throughout a highly successful U.S. tour this past Autumn, returning home inspired to work on the five brand new tracks that would make up The Velvet Face EP – recorded at Pioneer Sound and co-produced by Daniel James.

This time around Zac, who also recently rejoined his band Paramore, takes all of the finely-tuned songwriting that he exercised on Sudden Feeling and returns with his love for live drums and tones that you’d expect to hear on a vinyl record from the 60’s.  Opening track “Scooby’s In The Back” is a perfect representation of the band’s vibe, invoking an aesthetic often reserved for French New Wave film soundtracks, and is followed up by the aptly-titled lead single “French Class.”  The more organic feel present on The Velvet Face EP can be attributed to his time spent on the road during the last year, as the writing and recording process took place in between the band’s east coast U.S. tour and a set of debut headline and festival dates in the UK that wrapped with a sold out show at The Camden Assembly in London.

Touring with his band and often finding himself back behind the kit wasn’t the only source of excitement leading into the new EP; last year’s Sudden Feeling saw a lot of success and growth for HALFNOISE in the press.  The band teamed up with YouTube and The Fader for a set of live performance videos, a partnership with Lomography allowed Zac to put his passion for film photography on display, and the record made it onto plenty of end of the year lists, including PopMattersBest Pop Albums of 2016 – stating “an artist in his own right, and as Sudden Feeling now proves, he’s truly a force in the music world.”  Stereogum and Earmilk featured album singles “Know The Feeling” and “Sudden Feeling” respectively, with The Washington Times, The Tennessean and many other regional outlets profiling the band as well.  Other song placements include syncs on MTV’s Scream, and Bill Nye’s new Netflix series Bill Nye Saves The World
