GLASS MOUNTAIN and FLAT FOUR RECORDS present LAZY SUNDAY AFTERNOON

“… We were chatting with our friends at Flat Four Records about a different sort of gig that we could play in the summer, something very relaxed and chilled, an all-day gig where people could treat it like a picnic or garden party. We looked at various locations and fell in love with the vibe at Wharf Chambers. It’s bright and airy, very relaxed and friendly, and it has a large courtyard where folks can sip beer, eat food and catch some sunshine. So we contacted some of our favourite bands and invited them to be part of it. We think it’s an amazing line up with great diversity. A perfect Lazy Sunday Afternoon …”

GLASS MOUNTAIN | JUNE 2017

Following their recent co-headline tour with Leeds three-piece Brooders, a tour that took them to Manchester, London, Derby, Birmingham, Nottingham, York, Glasgow and a packed out, triumphant show at the legendary Leeds Brudenell Social Club, GLASS MOUNTAIN, alongside FLAT FOUR RECORDS, are curating a one-day festival at LEEDS WHARF CHAMBERS on SUNDAY 13 AUGUST.

Featuring a host of their favourite bands from West Yorkshire and beyond, the line-up is as follows:

· AUTUMN DIET PLANS

Four piece from Nottingham who channel 90s influenced grunge, psych and space rock, and are

returning to blow the roof off Wharf Chambers again. Expect Oasis covers and bone-shaking riffs.

· CHEST PAINS

DIY to the bone, Leeds’ Chest Pains combine vicious Kraut-influenced post punk with an energy reminiscent of Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall. Certainly not to be missed.

· KRAM

Noisy, progressive, high energy two-piece from Leeds with heavy influences from Arcane Roots, The Melvins and Radiohead.

· FAUX PAS

Indie Punk from York inspired by the likes of The Cribs and Placebo, this energetic four piece instantly stamped their name on the scene. Championed by BBC Introducing, the band performed at Leeds and Reading Festivals last year and have been heavily featured on BBC Radio 1.

· SNICKLEFRITZ

Shooting snicklerounds of snicklesounds into your head top. Five-piece hailing from Leeds that give you chillersnicks. Ya dig? For fans of Homeshake, Elvis Depressedly, King Krule and Beach Fossils.

· PORTER & MAY

A neo-psych four piece from Preston influenced by the likes of Zero 7, Temples, PJ Harvey and Warpaint. Blending a driving rhythm section with haunting vocal harmonies of politically charged lyrics that echo the band’s valued themes of diversity and equality.

· NIGHT OWLS

Leeds’ finest grunge pop trio return to Wharf Chambers to turn everyone’s brains to jam. Expect well crafted hooks bedded in a huge fuzzy wall of sound.

· GLASS MOUNTAIN

Firmly in the cinematic alt-rock category, Bradford quartet Glass Mountain make sky-high, life-affirming guitar music that empowers and devastates in equal measure with a heart-wrenching balance of aggression and delicacy. Their arrangements are complex; their lyrics confessional and poetic; they’re artistic without being inaccessible and they’re one of the most promising and accomplished new acts in recent memory.
