Slam Dunk Festival 2017 – Preview Interview – I Prevail
Having dropped their debut album ‘Lifelines’ last October, I Prevail have been turning heads with their fantastic metalcore everywhere. This coming week they hit the UK to take on Slam Dunk Festival and are sure to pull a great crowd at the Impericon stage, so we had a quick chat with front man Eric Harsh ahead of their trip!
Hi Eric! How has the year treated you so far?
It has been amazing so far, we can’t wait for the second half
Having only recently debuted your first full length, how does it feel to be in such demand overseas?
It’s a feeling that is so overwhelming, and so amazingly good!
With most people knowing you for that ‘Blank Space’ cover what song would you most like them to listen to by yourselves?
‘Scars’ or ‘Lifelines’
What goals have you got for the rest of the year?
To go all the way to the UK and back to Australia!
Had you heard of Slam Dunk before?
Yes I have, I think it’s going to be great.
What other bands on the bill will you be checking out?
Don Broco, Enter Shikari, and our friends Neck Deep!
With your genre being very popular at the moment, how would you say you set yourselves apart from others?
We truly believe that you need the heavy with the melodies and choruses.
Did you expect the success that ‘Lifelines’ has given you?
We hoped it would be like this but it’s been awesome.
Who would you like to collaborate with?
David Bendeth (record producer) and maybe Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park)
Who would you like to be hitting the road with?
A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, and/or Five Finger Death Punch
What should be expected of your SDF set?
It’s gonna be rowdy for sure! We are bringing the D (Detroit) to the UK. Sorta like ‘Eight Kilometer’ instead of ‘Eight Mile’.
