Avalanche Party unleash new single ‘Porcelain’ ahead of UK tour

“I’ll redefine your notion of the best a man can be” is the mission statement of rising Yorkshire band Avalanche Party, who today release new single Porcelain on Clue Records. Commanding and anthemic, the track captures the quintet at their finest – oozing bucketloads of energy and charisma, contagious soundscapes and meticulous attention to detail.

“Porcelain is what The Coasters would have sounded like if they had taken slightly more crack. 1950’s benzo-psychosis of the worst kind. If it seems a good idea at the time then it probably is, hence this song of degradation, food, notions and gardens”

Porcelain is released digitally, and also on 12” limited edition blood red vinyl alongside three other tracks – including previous single I’m So Wet, which generated support from Clash, Wonderland, BBC Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X, Virgin Radio and Amazing Radio. Avalanche Party were formed by brothers Jordan and Joe, who spent summers in their youth in the Yorkshire dales, camping by firelight, and their winters snowed into their isolated hill top home with nothing but the sounds of Bo Diddley, Link Wray, Wilko Johnson and Jimi Hendrix to keep them company. The boys played their first gig at the age of twelve, and music is ingrained in their being.

Live is where Avalanche Party reign. Their brand of feral garage-punk is intense and immediate, brimming with an urgency that explodes on the stage, every note played through white knuckles, every word spat through gritted teeth. Vocalist Jordan Bell fearlessly parades amongst the crowd, supported by the captivating sonic backbone that is guitarist Jared Thorpe, bassist Joe Bell, Kane Waterfield on drums and Glen Adkins on keys. This undeniable musical chemistry has placed the band at the forefront of the British DIY scene, with live highlights including support to LIFE, Datsuns, Happy Mondays, alongside Reading & Leeds, Camden Rocks and Tramlines festivals.

The band wear their North Yorkshire roots with pride, having gigged the area relentlessly since their inception and gathering a fiercely loyal fanbase in the process. To pay homage, Avalanche Party will curate their own one-day festival at The Georgian Theatre in Stockton on 23rd June. Line-up and further details will be announced soon.

The band are now gearing up to headline the This Feeling tour throughout the UK this March/April, and will also play Electric Fields Festival. Further live dates will be announced soon.
