FEEDER reveal the video for their new single ‘Paperweight’, from their recent top 10 album ‘All Bright Electric’.
. The nostalgic clip works brilliantly as a visual for the band’s stunning performance of the track, paying homage to an era when music shows were really thriving on television.Produced & directed by Sitcom Soldiers, the video explores the aesthetic of the 90’s, reminiscent of classic music shows such as The Old Grey Whistle Test & Top Of The Pops which disappeared from our screens over a decade ago. ‘Paperweight’ is full of huge, classic Feeder riffs; one of the many highlights from ‘All Bright Electric‘. The nostalgic clip works brilliantly as a visual for the band’s stunning performance of the track, paying homage to an era when music shows were really thriving on television.
Of the video, Feeder’s Grant Nicholas commented:
“We wanted to make a more retro, indie looking video this time using filtered kaleidoscope effects and old school claps to give it an older look. It seems funny calling it retro as Feeder started around 1992. This was a format that was still around then, so I guess we have kind of gone full circle!”
Sitcom Soldier’s Ben Thornley adds:
“We designed the set itself from scratch with lots of squares of light which would dance on camera and give us the TV studio feel. We used an old vintage zoom which Panavision dug out for us and shot in 4:3 with a VHS transfer. The whole process was a lot of fun and the way the band reacted on the day gave us a very unique video.”
FEEDER (Grant Nicholas & Taka Hirose) announced their return last year after a four-year hiatus in glorious style, celebrating their highest chart position since 2008 with 9th record ‘All Bright Electric’. ‘All Bright Electric’ is a true statement of intent representing an even bigger, more exciting FEEDER who found a fresh lease of life in making this breathtaking new record.
